APF, TAC in final

KATHMANDU: Nepal APF Club and Tribhuvan Army Club advanced to the final of the CoAS third International Women’s Football Tournament here on Friday.

In the first semi-final match, APF defeated Nepal Police Club 2-1 in extra time. The match was decided in added time after both the teams were deadlocked at 1-1 in the normal period.

Sabitra Bhandari opened the scoring for APF in the second minute of the match before Khim Kumari Gurung levelled the scores in the 21st minute. Anu Lama of APF then scored the winning goal in the 117th minute.

In another semi-final match, hosts Tribhuvan Army Club outplayed Central Region 4-0. Deepa Singh Chhetry opened the scoring with a goal in the 15th minute before Anjali Waiba doubled the tally in the 35th minute.

Sharmila Thapa made it 3-0 in the 53rd minute and Indira Rai put the issue beyond doubt with a goal in the 85th minute.

The final is slated for Sunday at the Nepali Army Headquarters grounds.
