Yadav, Kyapchhaki win gold medals

Lalitpur, October 26

Ashim Yadav of Saptari and Phul Maya Kyapchhaki of Nepal Police Club won gold medals in the National Open Shooting Tournament here at the shooting range of International Sports Complex today.

Yadav and Kyapchhaki finished first in individual events of 100m air rifle respectively. Yadav earned 175 points out of 200 in the final match, while Tika Ram Shrestha of Sunsari was one point behind Yadav with 174 points. Hari Bahadur Thapa of NPC came third with 155 points.

In the women’s category, Kyapchhaki accumulated 192 points to confirm her gold, while Asmita Rai won silver medal with 185 points and Durga Sinjali claimed bronze with 165 points. NPC came first in the men’s team event of air rifle, while Dang finished second and Tribhuvan Army Club came third. NPC also won the team championship in women’s section, TAC won second position and Dang came third.

Nepal Shooting Association President Puspa Das Shrestha among others handed over the prizes to the winners. A total of 58 shooters, including 28 women players, took part in the four-day event.
