Pragatisil Youth Club and Baluwatar Cricket Club entered the final of the Pasa Trophy 2061 cricket tournament here today. At Maheshwori ground, Pragatisil Club defeated United Chabahil Cricket Club by seven wickets while Baluwatar Club beat Rudramati United Cricket Club by a huge margin of 106 runs. In the first semi-final, Chabahil Club were bowled out for 108 runs in 29 overs. Non striking opener Ravi Thapa top-scored with 19 runs, while opener Bantu Bataju scored 16 runs. For Pragatisil, Gyanendra Malla and Abhishek Hamal took three wickets apiece.
In reply, Suraj Wanta scored 32 and Avay Rana made 28 as Pragatisil reached the target in 20.5 overs losing three wickets. For Chabahil, Birendra Shah claimed two wickets and Bantu Batatu took one. Avay Rana of Pragatisil was titled the man of the match. In the other match, Sagar Panta scored a century and Nagendra Bhattarai scored half century as Baluwatar scored a mammoth 240 runs for seven wickets in 30 overs.
Panta scored a quickfire of 101 runs in 86 balls including eight fours and seven sixes, while Nagendra’s 58 came off just 36 balls and included eight fours and three sixes and. In reply, Rakesh Singh claimed three wickets as Rudramati was packed off for just 134 runs in 24.4 overs. Amit Mishra, Paras Khadka and Karan Chand also grabbed two each for Baluwatar.
Sagar Panta recieved Rs 1,000 for scoring a century and Narendra Bhattarai, also of Baluwatar Cricket Club, got Rs 500 for scoring half century. The cash prizes are sponsored by Upendra Prasad Bhattarai, CAN member and president of Baluwatar Cricket Club.
