KATHMANDU, JULY 3

Bishnu Prasad Bhandari and Urmila Nagarkoti won the titles of the Annual Caddie Competition here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Bhandari played 12-over 84 to finish first in the men's section of the 18-hole competition played under stroke play format. He earned Rs 22,000. Narayan Chaulagai came second with the score of 13-over 85 and he got Rs 16,000. Parsuram Chaulagai was third at 15-over 87 and he received Rs 13,000.

Bhola Nath Khadka and Devendra Pandey shared the fourth position at 88 and they earned Rs 9,500 each. Suresh Shrestha (97) came sixth and he received Rs 8,000, while Pukar Kuikel (98) was seventh and bagged Rs 7000. Dharma Poudel, Balaram Poudel and Purushottam Kuikel came in the top 10.

In the women's section which was played over nine holes, Urmila Nagarkoti won the title with a score of 63 and she received Rs 8,000. Rekha Kumari Sardar was second with score of 65 and she got Rs 5,000. Ruku Nagarkoti came third with a score of 68 and got Rs 4,000.

In all, 33 players - 26 men and seven women - took part in the tournament. Top 16 male and five female players earned cash prizes, while others got consolation prizes. Senior Golf Director of Gokarna Forest Resort Deepak Acharya and professional golfer Pashupati Sharma among others handed over prizes to the winners.
