Bima clinches bronze medal

Kathmandu, November 1:

Bima Rai won bronze medal in the Finnweight category at the third Korean Open International Taekwondo Championship on Thursday.

Other three players who competed on the opening day of the three-day event - Kumar Manandhar, Puspa Thapa Magar and Pitambar Uppreti - failed to win medals despite putting up good fights, according to team coach Nabin Kumar Shrestha.

Ayesha Shakya, Manita Shahi and Padma Gurung are scheduled to fight on Friday, while Deepak Bista and Ganesh Khadka will compete on Saturday.

A 11 member Nepali team, has been under special training under coach Kwon Hyouk Joung in Incheon, South Korea since last six months. Top players from 33 countries are taking part in the tournament.
