KATHMANDU: Abhilasha Bista became the first Nepali tennis player to make it to the main draw of the WTA 25K Tennis Tournament in Burundi on Monday.
Bista defeated India's Ashmitha Easwaramurthi 6-1, 0-6, 10-7 in the second round match and sealed a berth in the main draw, informed Nepal Tennis Association Member Ajay Bista.
Bista had defeated another Indian player, Sanya Yadav 6-3, 6-4 in the first round match.
She will face Alice Robbe of France in the first round match on Tuesday.
