The Nepal Golf Association and Royal Nepal Golf Club signed an agreement to conduct training camp for junior and women golfers.

NGA President Tashi Ghale and RNGC President Madhukar Yakthumba exchanged the memorandum of understanding on Monday. As per the agreement, the RNGC would organise free training camps for junior and women golfers twice a week and also allow aspiring golfers to play at the RNGC course.

The NGA will provide the RNGC with necessary kits, including balls, clubs and mats, to organise the training camps and also bear the costs of ball boys. The NGA will also bring international coaches to train aspiring young and women golfers. In return, apart from organising training camps, the RNGC will permit the national team golfers to play at the RNGC course and allow them to use the facilities for training.

NGA President Ghale hoped the training programme was initiated to prepare champion golfers. "We are grateful to the RNGC for accepting our proposal.

Together with RNGC, we can find talented golfers and train them," said Ghale. "The RNGC has a rich history in golf as it has produced a number of champion golfers. We hope to do the same from this association," he added.

RNGC President Yakthumba thanked the NGA for trusting the oldest club of the country to conduct training camp for youth and women golfers. "We are pleased to join hands with NGA to organise free camps for aspiring golfers. The RNGC has always supported in the development of the sport and we are committed to help the NGA for the cause," said Yakthumba.

The RNGC will form a committee to select the potential players for the training camp.

"We will open registration of players from Saturday and select aspiring players for the camp," said RNGC Vice-president Rajendra Shrestha. NGA Youth Development Director Deepak Acharya said the programme would be helpful in talent hunt. "We got a couple of player from similar programme in the past and we are hopeful of finding potential golfers from the camp," he said.
