KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 23
Pawan Bista won the fifth edition of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.
Played under stroke play full handicap format, Bista carded five-under 67 to finish first and claim the trophy.
Babu Sherpa came second on count back after he was tied on two-under 70 with Ujjwal Pradhanang.
Sherpa carded two-under 34 on the back nine, while Pradhanang played two-over 38 to bag the second runner-up trophy. Tashi Dong won the gross section trophy with the score of two-under 70. Aaradhya Tandan bagged the junior category trophy with the score of three-over 75. A total of 42 golfers took part in the event sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd.
Senior Golf Director of Gokarna Forest Resort Deepak Acharya handed over the prizes to the winners.
After the fifth edition, Bista moved to the top of the leaderboard in nett category with 230 points, while Tashi Dong is second with 175 points.
Umesh Jung Thapa is third with 115 points, followed by Sumod Bastakoti (105), Ashmank Karki (100) and Sumed Bhattarai (100). In gross section, Tashi Dong is at the top with 350 points, while Wangchen Dhondup is second with 300. Tashi Tshiring is third with 240, followed by Norbu Tshiring Sherpa (165) and Vijay Shrestha Einhaus (110). A total of 10 medal rounds will be played until December.
Top 40 golfers in nett section and top 20 in gross category will qualify for the Club Championship finals.
