BA to hunt boxers

LALITPUR: Nepal Boxing Association is set to organise boxing events in different 17 schools of the valley to produce players from grassroots level.

NBA President Ram Awale on Sunday met with representatives from the schools for the boxing competitions. Awale informed that the association would provide technical support to the events that will feature boxers from 10 to 18 years.

According to NBA, GEMS School of Lalitpur will hold boxing competition on June 24, while Nightingale HS School of Lalitpur and Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya of Bhaktapur are set to organise the tournaments on June 25.

Similarly, National United School of Kathmandu and Shreekul School of Lalitpur will organise tournaments on June 26, while Kathmandu’s Cambridge Public School, Advance Academy and VS Niketan School are set to hold similar event on June 27.

Everest School of Bhaktapur and Harisiddhi HS School of Lalitpur will organise talent hunt programmes on July 1 and July 6 respectively, while Lalitpur’s Ullens School and Premier International School also agreed to hold similar events. Kazakhstan’s boxing coach Mukhtar Berdim Betov will observe the events.
