BSAM, LRI make it to last four

KATHMANDU: Birendra Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya (BSAM) and Learning Realm International School (LRI) reached the semi-finals of the first Rum Pum Inter-school Cricket Tournament here today.

In the first match at the LAB cricket ground, LRI defeated Dreamland by a massive 63 runs to reach the final four. LRI bundled out Dreamland for a paltry 37 runs in 11.1 overs who were chasing 101-run target. Man of the match Nischal Dhakal was impressive conceding just one runs while taking three wickets in 2.1 overs. Amrit Bashyal also picked up three wickets in three overs while Bibek Sapkota found two victims. Dreamland batsmen were bundled out without adding double figure in the scorecard.

Earlier, Nirajan Rawal scored 27 runs and Shishir Pandey contributed 17 runs to provide LRI a modest 100-4 in 20 overs. Aditya Thakur remained unbeaten on 12. LRI will take on Wilson Academy in the semi-final clash on Wednesday.

BSAM, meanwhile, dominated the match in both bowling and batting department in their 78-run victory over Rajan Memorial. BSAM made 124-9 in 20 overs after electing to bat first and later bowled out Rajan Memorial for 46 runs in 17.2 overs.

Man of the match Milan Karki picked up three wickets for BSAM while Sagun Dawadi grabbed two. There were no double figure run getters from the losing side. Earlier, Dhiraj Thapa made 35 runs to give BSAM a match winning total. Anil Chaisir (19), Sujan Basnet (15) and Roshan Karki (14) were other notable contributors for BSAM. Amrit Khadka, Aamir Khan and Navin Nepal picked up two wickets each for Rajan Memorial. The winners will now take on Galaxy Public School in the other semi-final on Wednesday.
