Century Bank claim title

Century Bank defeated Nepal SBI Bank by six wickets to win the third Century Bank Corporate Super Sixes here at the TU Stadium today.
Opting to bat first, Nepal SBI Bank scored 55 runs losing two wickets in their allotted five overs riding on Monish Shrestha’s fiery 10-ball 36. Shrestha hit two fours and four sixes. However, Diwesh Dangol’s 10-ball 34 helped Century Bank reach the target in 3.5 overs with all six wickets in hand. Dangol cracked six fours and a six.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Century Bank defeated Civil Bank by four wickets and Nepal SBI beat ICFC Finance by 15 runs. Meanwhile, Century Bank’s Suraj Timalsina was declared the man-of-the-series and also bagged the best fielder’s award. He received a 32’ LED TV from Technos along with Rs 10,000 from Ipayremit. ICFC’s Arbind Rana also got two awards — the best batsman and most sixes, while Civil Bank’s Raj Shrestha was named the best bowler and Nepal SBI Bank’s Sakar Shrestha was adjudged the best wicketkeeper.
The winners of the event, Century Bank — also the title sponsors of the tournament — will get free entry in the next edition’s competition. Minister for Forest and Conservation Shankar Bhandari, National Sports Council Member Sailesh Karmacharya, SS Events Pvt Ltd President Sumit Rauniyar among others handed over the trophies to the winners. A total of 19 teams took part in the third edition of the tournament organised by SS Events.
