Prince Dahal and Rashila Maharjan advanced to the quarter-finals of the LiNing 12th Pushpalal Memorial National Ranking Badminton Tournament here today.

Nepal Police Club shuttler Dahal defeated his teammate Jeevan Acharya 21-9, 21-16 for his third straight victory and topped Group B. Bidhan Adhikari of Kaski made it to the last eight as runner-up after he earned a walkover win from Purna Bahadur Thapa.

NPC's Bishnu Katuwal and Tribhuvan Army Club's Rukesh Maharjan entered the quarters from Group A. Katuwal came from a set down to beat Maharjan 19-21, 21- 16, 21-6 in the day's match. Likewise, APF duo Kshitij Khanal and Devraj Rana advanced to the last eight from Group C, while TAC's Praful Maharjan and NPC's Sunil Joshi earned berths in quarter-finals from Group D.

In women's section, TAC shuttler Rashila Maharjan defeated NPC's Nita Lamsal to top Group A and made it to the quarters. Lamsal entered the last eight as runner-up.

TAC's Amita Giri and APF's Shova Gauchan advanced to the quarter-finals from Group B.

TAC's Anu Maya Rai and APF's Sunaina Mukhiya entered the quarters from Group C, whereas APF's Jessica Gurung and TAC's Prarthana Deuba advanced to the last eight from Group D. In Wednesday's matches, Giri beat Gauchan 13-21, 21-15, 21-15, Rai defeated Mukhiya 21-19, 21-7, and Gurung edged past Deuba 21-10, 22-20.

Top 16 players in men's section and top 12 shuttlers in women's category are taking part in the tournament organised by National Badminton Association.
