Depot outplay Oxford

Kathmandu, June 27:

Nagen Rai and Ravi Rai netted 13 points each as Depot Secondary School of Sunsari registered an easy 51-11 win over Oxford School of Rupandehi on the opening day of the first Xavier International U-17 Inter-school National Basketball Championship here today.

Manakamana School of Kaski overcame Malpi International School of Kavre 49-38 with Udit Tamrakar scoring 19 points for the winners. In other matches, Pennwood Academy crushed Small Heaven School of Chitwan 55-9, Niten Memorial School defeated Valley Public School 51-30 and Wilson got a walkover win from Sagarmatha School of Morang.

Earlier, Kamal Nepali, the 12-year kid who recently rescued Aradhana Pradhan from a 60-feet deep gorge in Pokhara, inaugurated the tournament, organised by Nepal Basketball Association under the sponsorship of Dabur Glucose D. Director General of Xavier International

College Lok Bhandari revealed that his school will provide free education upto 12 class for the

12-year Nepali.
