KATHMANDU: The Excelsior School, Modern Indian School and Rato Bangala advanced to the girls' basketball quarter-finals of the ninth Excelsior Cup here on Sunday.
Doma Tsering Gurung netted seven points alone as Excelsior edged past Pathshala Nepal 9-3, while MIS beat Clinton 17-6 and Rato Bangala defeated Swornim 17- 10.
In boys' basketball, People's Academy, MIS and Nepalaya entered the last eight. In U-12 boys' football, Brihaspati defeated Excelsior 4-0 and returned to beat RIBS 5-1.
Loyalty outplayed The Chandbagh 7-1, Shree Sanjay Sai edged past Oracle 1-0, and Kasthamandap thrashed Sanjay Sai 8-0.
Also, Excelsior 'Blue' played a 1-1 draw with RIBS.
In U-16 boys' football, Excelsior and RIBS 'B' recorded wins, while Excelsior played goalless draw with Sanjay Sai.
