KATHMANDU: Buddha Academy, Unique and Innovative won the titles of the 20th Gyan Niketan Cup Basketball Tournament here on Tuesday. Buddha defeated hosts Gyan Niketan 47-42 in the senior boys' section final. Naren Lama top scored for Buddha with 27 points.
Unique won the junior boys' section title with a 27-19 victory over Greenfield.
Sajit Rimal top scored for the winning team with 16 points.
Likewise, Innovative edged past Gyan Niketan 23-22 in the girls' section final riding on 17 points from Pooja Thapa. Lama, Rimal and Thapa also won the Most Valuable Player awards in their respective categories.
Gyan Niketan CEO Bishwajeet Kunwar, School Coordinator Sanjayjeet Kunwar, Financial Director Mira Thapa and Academic Incharge Dipendra Basaula handed over prizes to the winners.
