Gyanu Chaudhary, Amrit Thapa Magar, Arahant Keshar Singh and Prabin Bir Singh Kansakar advanced to the men’s singles semi-finals of the second Dhana Laxmi Maharjan Memorial National Squash Tournament here at the International Sports Complex today.

In the quarter-final matches, Chaudhary recorded a 9-11, 7-11, 13-11, 11-9, 13-11 against Sudeep Bahadur Singh, while Magar defeated Umid Shakya 11-4, 11-4, 11-6. Likewise, Singh outplayed Sugam Tulsan 11-4, 11-2, 11-2 and Kansakar advanced after his opponent Rajendra Shakya quit while trailing 3-11, 11-6, 11-5.

In the women’s semi-final match, Krishna Thapa defeated Bipana Blon 11-8, 12-10, 7-11, 12-10. In the men’s above-55 veteran section, Kishor Maharjan beat Rup Shrestha 11-7, 11-5, 11-8, Indra Karki beat Subash Rai 11-8, 11-7, 13-11 and Prem Singh saw off ML Maskey 11-1, 11-4, 11-5 and advanced to the last four.
