TipTop Help Nepal Sports Club and Nepal Police Club won the titles of the seventh NVA National Club Volleyball Championship here at the NSC covered hall today.

Both the teams defeated defending champions on their way to claiming the trophies. In men's section final, Help Nepal recorded a straight set victory over Tribhuvan Army Club and completed the revenge of loss in three previous finals - Club Championship, Club League and Tiger Cup.

The team with three Pakistan national team players, Help Nepal beat TAC 25-22, 26-24, 25-23. Pakistan's Muwasar Raja was named the Kelme player of the match and he received gift hampers from Kelme Nepal. Champions Help Nepal received Rs 400,000, while TAC earned Rs 200,000. Nepal APF Club, who finished third with a 3-1 victory over Nepal Police Club, got Rs 100,000.

In women's section, departmental team, Nepal Police Club became champions after 10 years. NPC came from behind to beat defending champions Hongwanji New Diamond Youth Sports Club 3-2 in the final. NPC, who made it to the final after 10 years, lost the first set 22-25. They levelled the scores with a 25-17 win in the second set and took lead with a 27-25 win in the third set.

New Diamond forced the fifth and final set after they took the fourth set 25-19 in the fourth set. In the deciding set, NPC registered a 15-11 victory to claim their second title. Rima Kunwar of New Diamond was named the Kelme player of the match and she received gift hampers from Kelme Nepal. Champions NPC earned Rs 400,000, while New Diamond got Rs 200,000. Three-time winners APF, who finished third, got Rs 100,000.

Muwasar Raja of Help Nepal and Pratibha Mali of New Diamond were named the best players of the championship.

In men's section, Dhana Bahadur Bhatta and Hari Hajur Thapa of TAC were declared the best spiker and setter respectively. Help Nepal trio Muwasar Raja, Deepak Thapa and Utsav Khadka were named the best server, libero and coach respectively. Nabin Nagarkote of NPC was adjudged the best blocker.

Likewise, New Diamond duo Pratibha Mali and Salina Shrestha were declared the best spiker and libero respectively, while Kabita Bhatta of APF, Kamala Pun of NPC and Sangam Mahato of TAC were named the best blocker, setter and server respectively. NPC's Rupesh Bista was declared the best coach. The individual award winners in both sections received Rs 10,000 each.

A total of 23 teams - 15 in men's section and eight in women's category - took part in the championship organised by Nepal Volleyball Association.

The championship also served as qualifiers for the NVA National Club League with top eight teams in men's section and top six clubs in women's section earning berths in the league.
