Himal Media, Kantipur enter quater-finals

Himal Media and Kantipur Publications entered the quarter-finals of the 3rd Tuborg Media Cup, which has been organised by Nepal Sports Olympic Museum, on Thursday.

At Dasharath Stadium, Roshan Shrestha scored four goals as Himal Media defeated Space Time 6-0, while Kantipur outplayed Himalaya Times 2-0.

In the first match, Roshan Shrestha put Himal Media ahead in the fourth minute and added another after three minutes. Dinesh Thakuri made it 3-0 in the 33rd minute, while Roshan completed his hat-trick in the 38th minute.

Roshan scored his fourth and Himal Media’s fifth goal in the 50th minute and Pradip Basnet netted the last goal in the 61st minute. Roshan Shrestha Himal Media was declared the Tuborg man of the match.

In other match, after a tedious first half, Satya Raj Acharya gave Kantipur a lead in the 52nd minute, and Ranjan Mani Poudel sealed the victory seven minutes later. Kantipur Publications’ skipper Aman Adhikari was declared the Tuborg man of the match.

On Friday, Annapurna Post will take on Rajdhani in a group B match and Radio Sagarmatha will play against Communication Corner in a Group A match at the same venue.

Himal Media will face the Friday’s Group A winner in the quarter-finals, while Group B winner will take on Kantipur Publications for the semi-final spot.
