Karachi, July 26:

The International Cricket Council (ICC) today announced the umpires and match referees for the inaugural Twenty20 World Championships, excluding five involved in April’s shambolic World Cup final. “A total of three ICC match referees and nine umpires will officiate during the tournament slated for September 11-24 in South Africa,” ICC said. The umpires include Australia’s Daryl Harper, Simon Taufel and Steve Davis; England’s Mark Benson and Nigel Llong; Billy Doctrove of the West Indies; Pakistan’s Asad Rauf; South Africa’s Ian Howell; and New Zealand’s Tony Hill.
