Nepal beat USA by six wickets, enter final of ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier final along with Ireland

KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated the United States of America in the ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier by six wickets at the Kinrara Oval Stadium, Kuala Lumpur, and secured their position in the final scheduled for October 22.

In another match played today, Ireland defeated Uganda by 158 runs.

Ireland batted first and made 255/8 in 50.0 overs and bowled out Uganda for 97 runs in 23.5 overs.

With three consecutive wins, both Nepal and Ireland have qualified for the final with a game against each other in hand.

The winners would earn the berth for next year’s ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup to be held in Bangladesh.

With today's results, Nepal continue to top the table based on net run rate.

KATHMANDU: The United States of America have posted a target of 110 runs to Nepal in their ICC Under-19 World Cup Qualifier match being played at Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur on Monday.

Nepal won the toss and elected to field.

With Prem Tamang's five-wicket haul, the USA were bowled out for 109 runs in 46 overs. The 50-over match was reduced to 48 overs.

Sagar Patel top-scored for the USA with 44 runs, while Tohidul Islam and Gaurav Patenker made 14 and 11 respectively. Other players could not score in double figure.

Aarif Sheikh took two wickets while Sushil Kandel and Dipendra Singh Airee claimed one each.
