India win kabaddi

KATHMANDU: India won the title of the International Invitational Men’s Kabaddi Championship here at the National Sports Council covered hall on Saturday.

In the final match, India thrashed Nepal 59-21. India took a lead of 37-11 in the first half before scoring 22 points against Nepal’s 10 points in the latter half.

India remained unbeaten in all three matches of the three-team competition.

Bangladesh had also participated in the controversial competition organised by All Nepal Kabaddi Association.

Bangladesh complained about the refereeing in both the matches against Nepal and India and they literally gave up midway through their second match against India.

The controversy began after Nepal registered a 37-35 victory over Bangladesh in the opening match.
