Kathmandu, May 25

Bhyagutey Production Pvt Ltd is organising the Micromax Inter-school Indoor Cricket Tournament here at the Velocity Arena next week.

In all, eight teams are taking part in the tournament which will be played from May 30 to June 2, informed Tournament Coordinator Rabin Joshi at a press meet today. The participating teams have been divided into two groups and the top two after the league round will make it to the semi-finals.

Ujjwal Shishu Niketan Academy, Niten Memorial HS School, Premier International School and Vidhya Sanskar School are in Group A, while DAV Sushil Kedia Vishwa Bharati School, API School, Green Laws Academy and Meridian International School are in Group B. Ujjwal Shishu will play against Premier International in the opening match.

The tournament is sponsored by Micromax mobile, while Civil Mall is the co-sponsor. Grande International Hospital, Gulab, Storm, Aqua Shine and WicketNepal are the supporters of the tournament. “We are glad to be associated with the event as it aims at helping the development of cricket from grassroots level,” said Dhirendra Kushwah, Marketing Manager of Micromax. “We believe that participation in such events would help the players gain confidence and develop their skills as well,” he added.

The participating teams will have 11 players, including two extra members. The matches will be of 12 overs up to semi-finals, while the final will be 16-over-a-side contest. Top two teams will receive trophies, while player-of-the-series, best batsman, best bowler and man-of-the-match will also be awarded.
