Janaki suffering from fever, cough

KATHMANDU: One of the members of the Nepali team that is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to take part in the ACC Women’s Twenty20 Cricket Tournament has fallen sick.

Team manager Binod Raj Rajbhandari took Janaki Bhatta — who remained at the room for the whole day — to the nearby hospital after she complained of fever and cough. The doctors prescribed general medicines and advised the team manager to put her in a separate room, a team source told The Himalayan Times over telephone.

According to the source, Janaki had been suffering from cold and cough for the last four-five days. After taking the medicine, Janaki, however, went for dinner with teammates. The Nepali team, which reached Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday midnight, remained at the hotel for the whole day as no practice session was scheduled for the day.

Except for Janaki and Nary Thapa, other players spent an hour at gym, while some of the players spent some time at the swimming pool. Nary did not attend the gym because of headache, the source said. The Nepali team is scheduled to have a practice session on Thursday. Nepal will face Iran in the first match on Friday.
