Tribhuvan Army Club judoka Punam Shrestha won below-70kg section gold medal in the Ninth National Games here today.

The 13th South Asian Games gold medallist beat Ranjana Khadka of Bagmati in final. Rajani Magar of NPC and Simanta Rai of Province-I finished joint third.

Akriti Joshi of TAC won above-78kg weight category gold medal. She defeated Puja Rajbanshi of NPC in the final.

NPC's Bhawana Gharti Magar and Bagmati's Asmita Gole came joint third.

Dipa Gurung of NPC won women's below-78kg weight category gold medal. Nirmala Gharti Magar of TAC finished second, while Lumbini duo Samjhana Chaudhary and Shushila Kumari Chaudhary came third.

Janga Bahadur Saru of Tribhuvan Army Club won gold medal in men's below-81kg weight category. Saru defeated Nepal Police Club's Madu Roka Magar in final. Sanjay Maharjan of Bagmati Province and Yogendra Bista of Sudurpashchim won bronze medals.

In below-90kg weight category, Manish Mahato of NPC beat TAC's Sujan Gurung to win gold medal. Guddu Kumar Kanu of Madhesh and Suresh Giri of Sudurpashchim bagged bronze medals. In men's below-100kg, Ramesh Chand won gold medal after Himamshu Gupta could not play in the final due to leg injury.

Sriram Makaju of NPC and Nishcal Rai of Province-I won bronze medals.

In men's above-100kg section, Rajan Joshi of NPC defeated Ranjesh Gole of TAC in final. Pranit Jang Singh of Lumbini and Aditya Dahal of Bagmati Province finished joint third. After Tuesday's bouts, TAC lead the standing with eight gold medals, while NPC have bagged six. Team event bouts are scheduled for Thursday.
