Kathmandu advance to final

Dipendra Chaudhary scored an explosive 75 to guide Region No 3 (Kathmandu) to the final of the Sintez MM Twenty20 National Cricket Tournament here at the Narayani Stadium today.
Kathmandu beat Biratnagar by 25 runs to set the championship match with Region No 4 (Bhairahawa) on Saturday. Bhairahawa entered the final
after winning the other semi-final match against Region No 2 (Birgunj) on Wednesday.
Electing to bat first, Kathmandu were bowled out for 120 runs with three balls to spare. In reply, Biratnagar could only muster 95 runs in 19 overs. Man of the match Chaudhary struck two sixes and 11 fours to lay the foundation. It was the highest score made by any batsman in the tournament so far.
The only other Kathmandu batsman to score in double figure was Gyanendra Malla (12). Santosh Baral and Raj Kumar Pradhan claimed three wickets apiece for Biratnagar.
Allrounder Mehboob Alam top-scored for Biratnagar with 15-ball 22. Pawan Das also scored 21 off 24 deliveries. Raju Basnet (3-16) and Sharad Vesawkar (3-11) took three wickets each for Kathmandu.
