KATHMANDU: Monalisa Khamboo won the title of the first Women’s Round Robin Chess Tournament here on Sunday. Former Nepal champion Khamboo, who defeated Asmita Adhikari in the 14th round, won the trophy on Direct Encounter basis after she was tied on 13 points with Indira Joshi. Joshi beat Manisha Jaiswal in the final round to accumulate 13 points. Binita Kapali was third with 10.5 points. The top three players received Rs 5,000, Rs 4,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively. A total of 14 players participated in the tournament organised by Golden Gate Chess Club.
