LALITPUR: The Cricket Association of Nepal and Lalitpur Metropolitan City on Tuesday reached an agreement to organise the Lalit Mayor Cup Women's Twenty20 Cricket Tournament next month.

CAN President Chatur Bahadur Chand and Lalitpur Metropolitan City Chief Administrative Officer Bishnu Prasad Koirala signed the memorandum of understanding amidst a programme.

As per the deal, Lalitpur Metropolitan City will provide the CAN with two million rupees to organise the five-team tournament. Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan and Deputy Mayor Geeta Satyal handed over a cheque to Chand on the occasion

According to CAN, the four semi-finalists of the PM Cup held in Dang - champions Province-1, runners-up Nepal APF Club, Sudurpashchim Province and Lumbini Province - will take part in the tournament along with Lalitpur Metropolis team, which will include players from Province-2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Karnali.
