KATHMANDU: The Elective General Assembly of Nepal Karate Federation on Saturday elected a 20-member executive committee under former National Sports Council Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama.

The NSC had on January 26 appointed Lama as the president of the ad hoc committee with a mandate of amending the bylaws and holding the elections within three months.

Hari Sharan KC was elected as senior vice-president, while Prakash Mohan Dhoubadel, Dev Kumar Lama, Makendra Bahadur Singh, Om Krishna Prasai, Majindra Singh and Shyam Sherpa were chosen as vice-presidents. Dawa Gurung, who led the NSC-affiliated faction of the NKF during Lama's tenure at the National Sports Council, was elected as general secretary, while Dhojman Moktan and Balram Mitra are Secretaries in the committee.

Kishor Prasad Bhattarai was elected as Treasurer. Likewise, Ram Bahadur Singh Thakuri, Sanjay Sundar Saiju, Ravi Maharjan, Hikmat Thapaliya, Tara Prasad Oli, Yadav Kafle, Rajendra Baral and Shashi Kumar Titung are the members.

The first meeting of the NKF nominated Kamala Rana and Sanjay Kumar Rai as members, while Dipesh Shakya, Bishnu Karki, Biwas Gopal Vaidhya, Hari Bista and Ganesh Karki were selected as advisors.
