Nepal meet Oman today

KATHMANDU: Defending champions Nepal will take on Oman for a berth to semi-final at the ACC Under-19 Elite Cup cricket tournament at the Club Aman in Malaysia on Saturday. Nepal leads the Group A with five points from three matches after Friday’s play. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore have four points each from three matches. Oman have two and Thailand one point. The UAE defeated Oman by 97 runs and Singapore beat Thailand by 74 runs on Friday. — HNS

Demonstration of Sepak Takraw

KATHMANDU: Nepal Sepak Takraw Association (NSTA) organised a demonstration of its game here on Friday. Similar to volleyball, Sepak Takraw allows three players in a team. Players can use their legs and head to pass the ball over the opponents court. Member secretary of the National Sports Council (NSC) Jeevan Ram Shrestha and the NSC vice-president Sitaram Maskey, who is also the president of NSTA, were present on the occasion. — HNS
