Inter-school TT

KATHMANDU: Alish Singh won the gold medal beating Bibesh Gautam in the all-AVM U-10 boys’ final at the 2nd HVM Valleywide Inter-school Table tennis Tournament here today. Nehal Shrestha and Sudip Khatri finished joint third. Sonu Gupta won the gold medal in the U-12 section, while Prajwal Bhandari clinched the U-16 title. In girls’ section, Mira Adhikari won the U-10 gold, while Rojina Deshar grabbed U-12 title, and Rabina Deshar came first in the U-16 section. — HNS

Friendly Bowling

KATHMANDU: Niranjan Rajbansi won the Friendly Media Bowling Tournament organised by Fun World Nepal Recreation Centre. The sports journalist of Nepal Samacharpatra rolled down 395 pinfalls in three games and finished ahead of Ajay Hamal of Kantipur (384) and Mahesh Acharya of The Himalayan Times (375). Others in the pack were Purushottam Kattel (369), Dhurba Tuladhar (354), Udipt Singh Chhetry (353), Prakash Timalsina (326), Shree loc-han Rajopadhyay (324), Rit-esh Rijal (322), Hemanta Kafle (309), Bal Mukunda Nepal (281), Devendra Sub-edi (279), Upendra Shrestha (249), and Chetan Pandey (245). Nine Ball Pool

KATHMANDU: Fun World Nepal Recreation Centre is organising the Nine Ball Pool Tournament

from September 4-9 at the Fun World Pool Centre. About 100 participants are expected to take part in the tournament, sponsored by Everest Beer and co-sponsored by IMU International. The winner will get Rs 20,000, while the runners-up will get Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000. The fourth-place holder will get Rs 3,000 while losing quarter-finalists will receive Rs 1,000 each and the 9th-16th place holders will get Rs 500 each. — HNS

Ranjit elected

KATHMANDU: The general assembly of Kaski district body of Nepal Amateur Athletics Association elected Shiva Shankar Ranjit as the president of the 13-member committee. Yogendra Basnet and Khem Gurung are the vice presidents. Others elected in the body are Gaja Bahadur Gurung (secretary), Hari Thapa (treasurer) and members Avan Ranjit, Jeevan Bataju, Ramesh Malla, Pancharag Gurung, Bhanubhakta Baral, Nara-yani Gurung, Deepak Ranabhat, Shankar Shah. — HNS
