B’ Division League

KATHMANDU: Saraswati Youth Club beat Bouddha Football Club 4-3 in the second-round match of the Martyrs Memorial ‘B’ Division League here at Dasharath Stadium on Tuesday. Yogesh Gurung scored a hat-trick, while Nabin Basnet scored one for Saraswoti. Sumin Kumar Bhattarai struck twice and Som Thapa netted one for Bouddha FC. On Wednesday, United Youth Club will take on Brigade Boys Club. — HNS

Nepal team champion

KATHMANDU: Nepal won 16 gold, three silver and three bronze medals to win the team championship of the second International Senior, Junior Male and Senior male Black Belt Taekwondo Championship held in Lucknow, India from Decemer 20-21. Bishworam BK, Purushottam Manandhar, Ishwor Pariyar, Pradeep Lama, Anil Maharjan, Aashish Maharjan, Raj Kumar Lama, Dan Bahadur Airee, Dipendra Thapa, Badri Nath Basnet, Prem Bahadur Budhathoki, Lokendra Bahadur Gurung, Anubhav Thapa, Binod Nepali, Deepak Adhikari and Sabin Shahi won gold medals. Likewise, Ravi Kapali, Bikky Gubhaju and Raj Kumar Gurung bagged silver medals, while Ashok Khadka, Suresh Chhetry and Sujan Pujari won bronze medals. — HNS

Karate felicitation

KATHMANDU: Nepal Shotokan Karate Association (JSKA) felicitated the medal winners of the 17th Invitational Karate Championship held in India from December 12-14. The association handed over Rs 5,000 to Sushant Kodak, who won two gold medals in Under-9 boys singles kata and 25-kg kumite, while others were felicitated on the occasion. Nepal won nine gold, 10 silver and six bronze medals in the event, said the association. The other gold medallists were Sujan Khadgi, Renuka Pandey, Krisha Sherpa, Suraj Shrestha, Diwas Shrestha, Binod Karki and Krishna Kumar Manandhar. Bikram Rai and Sonam Lama won two silver medals each, while Sujan, Renuka, Krishna, Bipul Lama, Dawa Chhinjum Sherpa, Gopal Katuwal and Hari Shresth bagged one each. Ronit Rai, Sural Lama, Prajjwol Shrestha, Rajendra Lamichhane and Bikram Basnet won bronze medals. — HNS
