Machhindra Bahal Club defeated Saraswati Youth Club 2-0, while Sano Gaucharan Youth Club and Kalika Mahabir Club played a 1-1 draw in the day’s matches Martyrs’ Memorial ‘B’ Division League Football Tournament here today.

The win was second for Machhindra which puts them at the top of the standings with six points. Bouddha Football Club, also with six points, are in the second spot on goal difference with Machhindra. Sano Gaucharan have four points. At Dasharath Stadium, Deepak Rai put Machhindra ahead in the 18th minute following Arjun Rijal’s corner kick. In the 33rd minute, Khagendra Khadka guided the ball alone from the centre and doubled the tally.

In the other match, Sano Gaucharan took lead through Suraj Shrestha’s penalty kick in the 28th minute. In the 52nd minute, Pravin Rai of Kalika Mahabir scored an equaliser, which also came through a spot kick. Mahabir Club earned the penalty after Pravin Thapa of Sano Gaucharan brought down Asta Ratna Man Bajracharya inside the D-Box.
