KATHMANDU: Malpi Institute defended the titles of the fifth Inter-A-Level Basketball Tournament here on Thursday. Malpi defeated Rato Bangala 66-47 in the boys’ final riding on Wangel Gurung’s 25 points, while Saloni Sherchan netted top scored with six points as Malpi beat Rato Bangala 21-16 in girls’ section final. Wangel Gurung and Kelsang Sherpa of Malpi were named the Most Valuable Players of the tournament. Sulav Batas and Grishma Rajbhandari, both from Rato Bangala, were the highest scorers with 150 and 40 points respectively. Director of Professional Education Consultancy Raju Singh, Director of A-Level at Ace Academy Umanga Pandey and tournament convenor Aashish KC handed over the prizes to the winners.
