KATHMANDU: Hosts Modern Indian School won football tournament title under the MIS Cup here on Friday. Bishal Kunwar scored a brace as MIS defeated Ideal Model School 3-0 in the final match.

Nischal Sigdel of MIS was adjudged the best player of the tournament, while Rohit Maharjan of Ideal Model was the highest scorer.

Ideal Model lifted the basketball title with a 33-29 victory over MIS. Suhan Maharjan of Ideal Model was named the Most Valuable Player, while Pranet Shrestha of MIS won the highest scorer’s award.

In table tennis, Pushpasadan defeated MIS 3-2 in team event final, while Ravi Kumar Yadav of DAV bagged the boys’ singles gold medal with a 3-1 victory over Siddhartha Tamang of Pushpasadan. More than 250 students from 10 schools took part in the three-day Cup which features three sports disciplines.

MIS Principal Raju Peter and Secretary and Manager Sardar Preetam Singh handed over prizes to the winners.
