MIS win title
KATHMANDU: Modern Indian School won the girls’ team event gold medal of the Inter-school Table Tennis Tournament here on Friday.
The hosts defeated Triyog School 3-2 in the final. Likewise, Anubhav Kedia and Aakanchya Karmacharya of MIS and Ayush Paudel of Kendriya Vidhyalaya claimed the singles titles. Kedia defeated his school mate Ashish Agrawal 11-4, 11-8 11-6 in the boys’ section final, while Karmacharya beat Siru Pradhan 11-6, 11-5, 11-8 in all-MIS girls’ final.
Likewise, Paudel defeated Samvid Singh of MIS 11-8, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8 in junior boys’ section final. In boys’ basketball, Modern Indian School and White House advanced to the final. In the day’s league round matches, MIS defeated St Xavier’s 29-20 riding on 15 points from Raunak Gupta, while White House beat Kendriya Vidhyalaya 34-19 and KMC School beat Kendriya Vidhyalaya 15-13. Likewise, DAV School and Ideal Model entered the boys’ football tournament final.
DAV beat Creative Academy 3-1 on penalties, while Ideal Model outplayed Triyog School 7-1 riding on a hat-trick from Anuj Byanjankar. The finals are slated for Sunday.
