LALITPUR: Mount Olive School won the title of the Lions Cup Girls Futsal Tournament here at the Legend Futsal. Mt Olive defeated Mahalakshmi School 2-1 in tie-breaker after a 1-1 draw. Jeniva Maharjan put Mt Olive ahead before Manisha Tamang levelled the scores for Mahalakshmi.

Siddhimangal School finished third with a 1-0 victory over Bhanudaya School. Saru Tamang scored the solitary goal of the match. Top three teams received Rs 25,000, Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively along with trophies and medals.

Manisha Tamang of Mahalakshmi was declared the best player of the tournament, while Saru Tamang of Siddhimangal was the highest scorer with 11 goals and she won a golden boot.

A total of 13 schools of Mahalaxmi Municipality took part in the tournament organised by Lions Club of Kathmandu Royal Friends. Lions Clubs International District 325P, Past District Governor Lion Anup Kumar Pahari and Mahalaxmi Municipality Deputy Mayor Laxmi Maharjan handed over the prizes to the winners.
