ANFA U-16 in semis

DHARAN: A solitary goal from striker Amar Dangol helped ANFA Under 16 Team reach the semi-finals of the 12th Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament with a 1-0 win over the visiting AHM Kamruzzamun Sriti Samsad Club of Bangladesh here on Sunday. Man of the match dangol struck close from the goalline in the 195h minute cashing in on a supply from skipper Sulav Maskey. The visiting team enjoyed a better possession making almost a dozen of threatening attacks but the U-16 defenders and goalkeeper Laxman Thapa denied them well. On Monday, the Himalayan Sherpa Club of Kathmandu will play the United Kurseong Football Club of Darjeeling.

Kantipur, Teresa win

KATHMANDU: Kantipur English School and Teresa Academy set the title clash of the Kwik’s Inter-school Girls Basketball Tournament here on Monday. Ronahi Limbu netted 15 points as Kantipur defeated Valley Public School 41-34. Samichan Bista also scored 15 points for Valley Public. In the second semi-final, Teresa eased past Trungram International Academy 35-16 riding on 14 points from Sarita Tamang. The final is scheduled for Monday.
