Nepal drawn in difficult pool in AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers

KATHMANDU: Nepal were drawn against Yemen, Tajikistan and the Philippines in Group F of the AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers.

Nepal were placed in Group F with the heavyweights as the Asian Football Confederation held the draw in Abu Dhabi on Monday.

The qualifiers will begin on March 28 with Nepal facing the Philippines in the opening match.

A total of 24 teams, divided into six groups, are vying for the 12 spots for the finals to be hosted by the UAE. The group winners and runners-up will make it to the finals where they will join 12 teams who have already qualified for the Asian Cup through the 2018 FIFA World Cup and AFC Asian Cup Preliminary Joint Qualification Round-2, according to AFC official website.
