Nepal to bat for 132 target in ICC U-19 WC

KATHMANDU: Nepal Under-19 cricket team are set to bat against a target of 132 runs posted by Ireland in their group stage match of the U-19 ICC Cricket World Cup at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah in Bangladesh on Saturday.

Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first.

Nepal took the first wicket after Sunil Dhamala bowled Stephen Doheny at 14.2 overs. Sushil Kandel then took the second wicket by bowling Jack Tector out of the pitch at 17.4 overs followed by Sandeep Lamichhane's wicket of Gary McClintock at 22.4 overs.

Doheny contributed 14 runs, Tector 27 and G McClintock 3 runs in their scoreboard.

Lamichhane went all out with four more wickets in his name, William McClintock (2), Adam Dennison (21), Lorcan Tucker (15) and Fiachra Tucker (0).

Ireland lost another wicket as Rory Anders got bowled by Dipendra Singh Airee at 38.5 overs after scoring 2 runs. Airee claimed his next wicket as he bowled Joshua Little at 48.5 overs.

Ireland concluded the innings at 131/9 at a run rate of 2.62.

Meanwhile, India have posted a target of 259 runs to New Zealand, losing eight wickets, in their group match.  New Zealand won the toss and elected to field first.
