NSJF, Turkish Airlines extend deal

KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 22

The Nepal Sports Journalists Forum and Turkish Airlines today extended the sponsorship deal for the Pulsar Sports Award.

NSJF General Secretary Prajwal Oli and Turkish Airlines General Manager Abdullan Tuncer Kececi exchanged the memorandum of understanding. As per the one-year agreement, Turkish Airlines — which will be the co-sponsor of the Award for the second year in a row — will provide the winners of the male and female categories with open destination air tickets each.

Turkish Airlines GM Kececi lauded NSJF for organising the award for the athletes and youths. “This is a commendable act of NSJF and we are proud to be associated with them,” said Kececi.

“We are ready to make contribution from our part for the development of Nepali sports.”

NSJF General Secretary Oli thanked the Turkish Airlines for their support. “We are grateful to Turkish Airlines for its support for the second year in a row,” said Oli. “The sports fraternity is delighted with this association and we hope to extend the agreement in the years to come as well.”

The 17th edition of the Award is scheduled for January 12 next year at the karate covered hall in Lalitur. The Award features 10 categories — Player of the year (male), PoY (female) and PoY (youth), coach of the year, People’s Choice, Para-athlete, Special, Lifetime Achievement, Team of the Year and International Asian Sports Journalist. Winners in four categories — male, female, coach and people’s choice — will receive Pulsar motorcycle each, while others will get Rs 50,000 apiece.

Hansaraj Hulaschand and Company is the main sponsor of the event, while Surya Nepal, Ruslan, Kelme, Royal Singi Hotel, National Sports Council, Nepal Olympic Committee and Hotel Crown Plaza are the co-sponsors and supporters.
