Nepal's Khatri loses to Cuban judoka in women’s 63kg
KATHMANDU: Nepal's judoka Phupu Lhamu Khatri lost her bout against Cuba's Maricet Espinosa in the elimination round of the women’s 63kg weight category in the Rio Olympics 2016 at the Carioca Arena 2 of Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday.
Espinosa beat Khatri  1-0 in wazari.
The 26-year-old Nepali fighter faced her opponent for the full four minutes in the first round.
But the latter succeeded in making it to the next round.
Espinosa scored 10Â wazari points while she was awarded one more for the foul that Khatri committed against her.

Khatri had won gold for Nepal, beating India’s Sunibala Devi Huidrom in the 12th South Asian Games in Guwahati earlier this year.
She started playing judo at the age of 13 and won medal in her maiden international participation three years later.
She won gold in the Hungary Open Junior Judo Championship and bagged bronze in the senior tournament in March.
Khatri had trained in Hungary to prepare for the Rio Olympics.
