Kathmandu, May 18
Chokhani Enterprises is organising the second Nescafe Gold Open Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday.
Around 100 golfers from Nepal and India are participating in the tournament which will be played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, informed the organisers at a press meet today. “This year we have five golfers from Indian corporate sector and a couple of ambassadors in the field which will make the game more exciting,” said Senior Golf Director at Gokarna Forest Resort Deepak Acharya.
The tournament features five categories — overall, gross, women, senior and junior — and the winners and runners-up along with longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and most birdies will receive prizes.
“Definitely we have attractive prizes and better than last year. We will disclose them at the presentation ceremony as we believe the golfers would be excited as well as surprised to know the prizes on Saturday,” added Acharya.
Pulak Chakraborty, CEO of Twohmp — which organises golf tournaments on behalf of Nescafe Gold in Nepal and India, said they were overwhelmed with the response they got in the first edition of the even last year. “We believe Nescafe Gold and golf blend very well. We were really excited by last year’s response and we are here with the second edition,” said Chakraborty.
“The event gives us an opportunity to connect and engage with our consumers more effectively as we believe Nescafe Gold and golf blend very well,” added Chakraborty.
Sanjay Chokhani, Proprietor of Chokhani Enterprises — the importer of Nescafe Gold in Nepal — said he was happy to get appreciation and recognition after the first edition of the tournament. “We have kept our promise of organising the second edition of the tournament. We are proud and happy that a global brand like Nescafe Gold is leading our portfolio of products from Nestle,” Chokhani added.
