NDA, APF set final date

Defending champions Shivam New Diamond Academy and Nepal APF Club advanced to the final of the Red Bull National Women’s Volleyball Tournament here at  Lamachaur today.

In the semi-final matches, NDA defeated Western Region and APF outplayed departmental rivals Nepal Police Club in straight sets of 3-0 and confirmed their meeting in Thursday’s final. NDA defeated Western 25-16, 25-19, 25-17, while APF beat NPC 25-10, 25-21, 25-20.

Earlier, APF had defeated Western Region 25-11, 25-9, 25-15 and saw off Jawalakhel Volleyball Training Centre 25-6, 25-9, 25-7 to advance to the semi-finals.

A total of five teams are competing in the tournament organised by Nawa Adarsha Community Development Committee of Lamachaur on the occasion of Teej Festival.

The winners and runners-up of the tournament will get Rs 75,000 and Rs 50,000, while the third and fourth placed teams will receive Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.

Similarly, the tournament’s best player, quicker, libero, spiker, blocker, server, defender and coach will get gift hampers.
