NDA, Western record comprehensive wins

KATHMANDU: New Diamond Academy and Western Regional Volleyball Association made  winning start in the KNP National Women’s Volleyball Championship here at  the National Sports Council covered hall on Tuesday.

New Diamond  thrashed Nepal Police Club in straight sets of 25-19, 25-17, 25-10 to collect three points from the Group B match. Similarly, Western saw off another departmental side  Tribhuvan Army Club 25-21, 25-18, 25-21 in Group A match and earned three points.

A total of six teams are competing in the tournament  organised by Sher Bahadur Khadka Memorial Foundation. Top three teams will take home Rs 150,000, Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively.

The best  spiker, quicker, setter, blocker, defender and server will get Rs 3,000  apiece. Earlier, Vice-president Nanda Bahadur Pun inaugurated tournament.
