NVA signs sponsorship agreement with NST
Kathmandu, January 5
Nepal Volleyball Association today signed an agreement with Nepal Satellite Telecom Pvt Ltd for the NVA National Club Volleyball Championship.
NVA President Manoranjan Raman Sharma and NST Chairman Ashmita Sumargi exchanged the Memorandum of Understanding for the sponsorship of the men’s and women’s Club Championship for two editions.
As per the deal, NST will provide NVA with two million rupees to organise the tournament, the fourth edition
of the championship to be held at the National Sports Council covered hall from February 25 to March 3. The NST will give the same amount for the next edition of the tournament.
Sumargi said her company came to know that the NVA was looking for sponsors to organise the tournament and we agreed to join hands with the association. “The deal will create an environment for others from private sector to support the association in
future,” the NST Chairman Sumargi said.
According to NAV General Secretary Jitendra Bahadur Chand, a total of 12 teams will compete in the men’s event, while nine teams will vie for the title in women’s section.
Top eight teams in men’s and top six in women’s sections will qualify for the RBB NVA National Club League Tournament to be organised later this year.
The top three teams in both the categories will take home Rs 150,000, Rs 100,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively.
Similarly, the best player will get Rs 15,000 each, while the best blocker, lifter, spiker, libero, server and coach will receive Rs 5,000 each.
