KATHMANDU: Mukesh Pal and Rajpura Pachhai won the titles of the fourth Bir Ganeshman Singh 10K Road Race here on Saturday.
Tribhuvan Army Club athlete Pal finished the race in 31 minutes and 21.76 seconds to win the gold medal, while APF's Gopi Chandra Parki came second in 31:38.68. Asian Cross Country Championship double gold medallist Deepak Adhikari of TAC finished third in 31:47.42.
Nepal Police Club's Pachhai won women's race with new national record.
The Asian Cross Country Championship silver medal winner, Pachhai finished the race in 36 minutes and 43.2 seconds breaking her own mark of 37:10.5 set during the third edition of the event.
Another NPC athlete Ram Maya Budha came second in 37:54.15, while APF's Pushpa Bhandari was third in 38:26.03.
Top three athletes in both sections received Rs 60,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively, while Pachhai earned additional Rs 10,000 for the new national record.
