Pradhan, Lama win CMS Abilities Cup

Kathmandu, May 3:

Raj Pradhan won the CMS Abilities Cup-2008 here at the Le Meridian Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Spa today.

Organised by College of Medical Sciences (CMS), Chitwan, Pradhan won the 0-12 handicap section on countback ahead of Tsultrim Lama after they were tied on one point. Played on a bogey format with 3/4 handicap, DIG Niraj Pun claimed the 13-24 handicap section. DIG Pun scored five points while runner up Om Pun got three. Winners of both the section received holiday package to Malaysia along with air tickets.

Kesang Lama claimed the ladies’ section title despite finishing at minus one-point. Runner up Puspa Rai ended up with minus three points. Likewise, Yeshe Tsering bagged the senior section title ahead of NK Rai. Tsering scored one point while Rai finished with minus three points. DIG Pun also earned the closest-to-the-pin award while PK Shrestha won the straighest drive award.

In all, 104 golfers including 11 ladies took part in the event. On the occasion, ISME chairman Nagendra Pampati handed over a cheque of Rs 500,000 to KP Bhattarai, the executive director of HRDC. Pampati, chairman of HRDC (Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre of Disabled Children) Bhattarai and president of Nepal Golf Association among others gave away the prizes.
