Pun, Nagarkoti advance to final

Kathmandu, June 30

Prem Prasad Pun of Swoyambhu and Roshan Nagarkoti of Tribhuvan Army Club advanced to the men’s recurve category final of the Rajdhani Archery Championship here at the National Sports Council covered hall today.

In the semi-final events, the 12th South Asian Games bronze medallist Pun saw off Ashim Sherchan of Kaski, while Nagarkoti defeated Ramesh Bhattachan of Swoyambhu in identical score of 6-2. The Best Archery’s Prajeet Agrawal beat Bibek Shen Gurung of Rajdhani 137-134 and Hom Bahadur Thapa Magar of Far-west outplayed Sanatan Malla of Rajdhani 140-136 to make it to the final of the men’s compound section.

Raj Purcha of Annapurna Archery Club beat Raju Gurung of United Mustang Club and Dharmendra Chhantyal of Nepal Chhantyal Society outplayed Jitendra Roka Magar of Myagdi Magar Society to make it to the men’s open traditional event final.

In the women’s recurve, TAC’s Gyanu Awale saw off Rajya Laxmi Joshi of Kaski 6-0 and Rashmi Darlami of Kaski recorded a 6-2 win against Aisha Tamang of TAC and entered the final.

TAC’s Pawan Rai and Grishma Gurung of The Best Archery took berth in the standard bow category final.

Rai beat Wilber Acharya of TIA 7-3 and Gurung defeated Darmber Thapa of TAC 6-0. The final matches will be played on Saturday.
