Tirtha Pun and Rekha Poudel won 10,000m race gold medals in the Golden Athletics Meet here at the Dasharath Stadium today.

Pun from Parbat completed the race in 30 minutes and 47.1 seconds to finish first in men's section. Rajendra Tamang was a distant second at 33:23.8, while fellow Nepal APF Club athlete Santosh Bikram Bista came third in 33:31.3.

Nepal Police Club athlete Pun won the women's section race with the timing of 39 minutes and 38.7 seconds, while Dolakha's Anju Khadka came second in 42:47.3 and NPC's Sumitra Chaudhary was third in 43:35.0.

Nisha Chaudhary of Dang won gold medals in 100m with the timing of 12.53 seconds.

NPC's laxmi Saud came second in 13.60 seconds, while Rajina Dulal of Lalitpur was third in 14.27 seconds. Yuvaraj BK of Karnali won men's section gold medal, beating APF duo Shivaraj Parki and Nir Pratap Mahato.

APF won gold medals in 4X100m relay events. In men's section, APF finished first in 43.61 seconds, while Lumbini Province (44.57) and NPC (47.14) came second and third respectively.

In women's section, APF won the race with the timing of 53.55 seconds, finishing ahead of Himalayan Angels (54.97) and NPC (55.93).

Tej Bahadur Karki of NPC claimed men's 400m gold medal with the timing of 51.54 seconds, while Tulsiram Tharu (52.60) of Lumbini and Ashish Chaudhary (52.72) of APF came second and third.

Ramita Kumar Tharu finished first in women's section in 59.70, while her APF teammate Kalpana Shrestha came second in 1:01.15.

Likewise, NPC athletes Nageshwor Ayer and Ram Maya Budha won gold medals in 1,500m race. Ayer finished the men's section race in four minutes and 08.9 seconds, while APF's Sanjeev Nepal (4:14.6) and Bikesh Ghimire (4:16.2) came second and third. Budha came first in women's section with the timing of 5:00.6, finishing ahead of APF duo Fulmati Rana (5:00.7) and Asha Rawat (5:12.8).

In high jump, Prabhu Thapa of Kapilvastu won men's section gold with the jump of 1.62 metres, while NPC's Chandra Dev Joshi came second with 1.57m and Kailali's Nar Bahadur Saud was third in 1.45m. In women's section, Sima Shrestha of Lamjung finished first with the jump of 1.36m, beating NPC duo Laxmi Saud (1.28m) and Birsana Kumal (1.25m).

In long jump, Salim Dewan of APF won gold with the distance of 7.09 metres, while Lumbini's Sudip Tharu was second in 6.67m and NPC's Mithun Chaudhary came third in 6.47m.

In women's section, Nisha Chaudhary of Dang defeated athletes from departmental teams to win gold medal. Sima Chaudhary of NPC and Ranjita Rai of APF came second and third respectively.

A total of 300 players are taking part in the Meet organised by Athletics Family of Nepal.

The two-day Meet features 27 track and field events and it is supported by National Sports Council, Nepal Athletics Association and Bagmati Province Sports Development Council.
