Kathmandu, February 18

Rabindra Tiwari, Vijay Shrestha Einhaus and Devasri Rana won the club championship titles of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

Tiwari accumulated 860 points to claim the nett section championship after he won the 12th and final edition of the Monthly Medal. Dhruba Thapa finished second with 760 points, while Tendi Sherpa came third with 590 points.

Einhaus won the gross section championship with 365 points after he bagged the title of the final edition. Tendi Sherpa came second with 190 points, while Prithivi Malla finished third with 160 points. Similarly, Rana bagged the junior category championship with a total of 400 points. Sam Doublard finished second with 350 points, while Mayank Dahal came third with 210 points.

Tiwari and Einhaus received Gokarna Pro-shop gift vouchers worth Rs 22,000, while Rana got gift voucher worth Rs 6,000 along with the trophies.

Meanwhile, Tiwari scored three-under 69 to win the nett category title of the 12th edition. Babu Sherpa finished second on count back after he was tied with Dr Bhagwan Koirala on even-par 72. Einhaus won the gross section trophy with the score of eight-over 80 and Sam Doublard lifted the junior section title with the score of one-over 73 nett.

In all, 25 players participated in the final edition of the tournament. A total of 10 monthly medal rounds and two-round finals were played before deciding the club champions in three categories. Gokarna Golf Club President Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan handed over the prizes to the winners of the tournament sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd.
